The amount of COVID-19 in wastewater in Saskatoon has dropped enough that researchers categorize it as medium versus last week when a spike in numbers sent the readings into the “high” range.

SARS-CoV-2 viral RNA load in Saskatoon’s wastewater has reduced by 79.3 per cent.

The values are tabulated by University of Saskatchewan researchers who take the averages of three individual daily measurements in their most recent reporting period and compare it to the weekly average of the previous weeks.

For Prince Albert the amount of COVID in wastewater has dropped by 35.9 per cent and for North Battleford it has increased by 44.5 per cent however both communities are still considered within medium range.

All three communities are experiencing some subvariant of Omicron.
