An early Thursday morning traffic stop in Saskatoon turned into a pair of weapons-related arrests.

At about 2:10 a.m. on April 13, a vehicle with three people inside was pulled over by a Saskatoon Police Service traffic stop in the area of 19th Street West and Avenue Q South. While one officer spoke with the male driver, another officer saw a weapon concealed behind the female passenger. A third occupant of the vehicle, a male in the rear seat, along with the other two vehicle occupants were ordered out of the vehicle and arrested. Following more investigation and a search of the vehicle, a loaded – sawed off .22 calibre rifle, various .22 calibre ammunition, a machete and a small knife were all seized by the S-P-S. The 24-year-old male driver and the 22-year-old female passenger face numerous weapons-related charges while the 19-year-old rear seat male occupant was later released without charges.
