Saskatoon Police deployed a taser against a man on Friday morning after officers said they were assaulted.

The incident happened around 10am in the area of 16th Street and Avenue P South. Officers observed a man wanted on a warrant. After telling him that he was being arrested, police say two officers were struck several times. As the struggle continued, a taser was used and the man was arrested with assistance from other officers.

A 26 year old man has been charged with two counts of assaulting a police officer. The deployment of the conducted energy weapon will be reviewed in accordance with police policy.
