Depending on whether Canadians support the most demands in the general nationwide strike is impacted by how they vote, according to Angus Reid Institute.

There are approximately 155,000 federal public service workers who walked off the job at midnight on Wednesday.

According to the survey those who supported the Conservative Party in 2021 are very much opposed to four of the five demands although 52 per cent support the union’s demands for wage premiums.   The majority of past Liberal and NDP voters support all five items.

Angus Reid says their survey indicates two-thirds of Canadians support wage premiums for night shifts and overtime hours.  One quarter oppose the government concede on the issue.  More than half support the right to work from home for federal employees and 36 per cent oppose it.
