The Saskatoon Police Service has arrested two people after trying to evade officers in a stolen vehicle early Thursday morning. That’s according to a news release from the Police Service which reports that officers noticed a vehicle confirmed to be stolen out of Melfort traveling around Avenue O South and Dudley Street.
A traffic stop was initiated, but the vehicle sped off.

A tire deflation device was successfully deployed but the suspect vehicle continued to drive dangerously, heading out of the city on Highway 7 and then onto Township Road 362, where it was immobilized. Police say one person had bear spray and a knife.

The 39 year old man who was driving is charged with possession of stolen property under $5,000, two counts of possession of a weapon dangerous to public, dangerous driving and driving while being pursued by police. He was also wanted on outstanding warrants. There was also an outstanding warrant for the 36 year old who was a passenger in the vehicle.
