Punnichy RCMP say their officers responded to a home in the community on April 22nd around 4:30 a.m. in the morning after getting a report of an injured female.

Officers did locate a woman who was injured and later declared deceased at the scene by STARS air ambulance. The victim is 31-year-old Kihaw Fox from Piapot First Nation.

Twenty-eight-year-old Ethan Sunshine was in court last Friday and faces six charges in connection to her death including second degree murder, criminal negligence causing death and reckless discharge of a firearm.
