A man and a woman, both from Saskatoon, have been arrested by the Saskatoon Police Service following a firearm being discharged in public Thursday.

At about 8 a.m. Thursday morning, there was a report to the S-P-S of a gunshot in the 400 block of Avenue H South with two suspects seen leaving the area. Responding officers quickly located a man and a woman who matched the descriptions they were given. However, the duo tried to flee into a nearby park with a short foot pursuit resulting in the officers apprehending both suspects. A discarded sawed-off rifle was later located in the park by police. A 25-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman face several firearms-related charges plus resisting arrest and failing to comply with court-imposed conditions.
