Ukrainian post-secondary students who arrived in Saskatchewan over the past year don’t have to pay the international rates. The provincial government says in a news release that funding will be provided to ensure that those who can under the Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel program will pay domestic tuition rates rather than the international rates. The program doesn’t categorize Ukrainian arrivals as refugees, so normally, anyone who wanted to pursue post-secondary education would be required to pay the higher rates. Among those who might be eligible are about two dozen Ukrainian students who are graduating from high school this spring.
