The hunt for a fugitive turned into two arrests at the same time for the Saskatchewan R-C-M-P’s Warrant Enforcement and Suppression Team (W-E-S-T) back on Wednesday.

Aided by Police Dog Services and Spiritwood detachment officers, W-E-S-T located and arrested 33-year-old Melvin Starblanket in an R-V parked in front of a residence on the Witchekan Lake First Nation. At the same time, officers located and arrested 40-year-old Aaron Scott of the Witchekan Lake First Nation, who was on warrant from Spiritwood R-C-M-P for charges including fail to appear at court. Both men were scheduled to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court Friday. Starblanket was sought following a March 30th report of a firearm discharge on Pelican Lake First Nation. Tyson Starblanket was arrested at that time after it was determined that a group of individuals in a vehicle discharged a firearm at a house, then drove away.
