This might be hard to believe but gas prices on Sunday in Saskatoon were 33.5 cents a litre lower than the same day a year ago.
According to GasBuddy.com average retail prices in Saskatoon have fallen 3.5 c/L in the past week, averaging 153.30 c/L Sunday. GasBuddy bases their information on a daily survey of 81 gas outlets in Saskatoon. Alberta is still considerably lower with prices in Edmonton for regular unleaded at 137.08 c/L.
Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, says it’s looking more likely that – barring a major hurricane or series of refinery outages – the national average may not end up hitting the $1.75 per litre mark and gasoline prices continue to see significant relief from year ago levels.
