Two people each face 10 drug trafficking and possession-related charges following the end of a Saskatoon Police Service Guns and Gangs Unit investigation that also involved firearms.

On May 12, at about 9 p.m., a search warrant was executed at a residence in the 100 block of Chaparral Boulevard in Martensville following surveillance of a 37-year-old Saskatoon man driving a white, 2017 G-M-C Sierra Denali and making frequent, quick stops, consistent with drug trafficking activity. The man tried to flee as the search warrant was being executed, but was arrested a short distance away with the help of the Canine Unit. Officers located and seized a large amount of methamphetamine and cash on his person. At the same time, a 33-year-old Martensville woman was arrested in the 2100 block of Faithfull Avenue in Saskatoon and was found to be in possession of cocaine. In all, police located and seized three shotguns – one of them sawed off – a rifle, another rifle with shotgun ammunition, 463 grams of meth, 12.46 grams of cocaine, 8.62 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, 99 Xanax pills, 68 hydromorphone pills, 23-hundred-and-76 dollars in Canadian currency, a machete, a folding knife, an expandable baton plus two vehicles – the 2017 G-M-C Sierra 1500 Denali and a 2007 Lexus I-S-350. The 37-year-old man is also charged with 17 firearms-related offences and Possession of the Proceeds of Crime in addition to 10 drug-trafficking and possession-related charges. The 33-year-old woman is also charged with 10 drug-trafficking and possession-related charges plus one charge of Possession of the Proceeds of Crime.
