Saskatchewan’s Lieutenant Governor Russ Mirasty and his wife Donna met with King Charles the III at Buckingham Palace today (Tues). The Lieutenant Governor says it was a great honour to meet him and to extend congratulations and best wishes on behalf of the people of Saskatchewan.
The King was presented with two gifts – a beaded medallion representing the Lieutenant Governor’s crest, created by Cathy Lavallee of the Lac La Ronge Indian Band and a donation to be made by the Government of Saskatchewan in the name of the King to the Embracing Life Initiation. EL is an affiliation of agencies, tribal councils and youth mentors who goal is to decrease incidents of self=-harm and suicide among northern Saskatchewan youth. The Lieutenant Governor is the Honourary Patron of EL.
