Saskatchewan R-C-M-P Major Crimes has arrested 34-year-old Travis Jean in relation to the death of 32-year-old Gregory Cope.
Jean was arrested in Lloydminster on May 17 and was scheduled to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court Friday to answer to a charge of first degree murder as well as a charge of arson with disregard for human life. A house on 27th Street in Battleford was destroyed by fire on February 18 of this year. Nine days later, on February 27, human remains were located inside the structure, identified as Gregory Cope, who had been reported missing on February 21. The Saskatchewan R-C-M-P Major Crimes investigation determined that Cope died as a result of a homicide.
