More than 1,300 groups and organizations in Saskatchewan are benefitting from the latest quarterly payment of charitable gaming grants totaling about $1.2 million.
As a few examples, groups and organizations from Humboldt and surrounding area received over $127,000 in total and in the Prince Albert area, over $112,000.
Groups that conduct licensed charitable gaming activities such as bingo, raffles and Monte Carlo events are eligible for the quarterly grant. They receive 25 per cent of the net revenues raised from the event to a maximum grant provided by the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority of $100,000 annually.
