Saskatoon Police Service say a woman was arrested and charged after two stabbing incidents yesterday in the city.

The first call came in during the after-work commute at 5:30 p.m. at 20th Street East and 2nd Avenue South. Police say the suspect is not believed to be known to the victim. A 35-year-old woman had suffered a stab wound and provided officers with a description of a female suspect before being transported to hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

A suspect was tracked down in the 300 block of 2nd Avenue South a short time later and police allege that during the arrest a large knife was located in her waistband.

Prior to taking her to police cells, officers learned paramedics were taking a second stabbing victim, a 25-year-old woman, to hospital. She had been located behind the Midtown Plaza.

Investigators determined it was the same suspect involved in both stabbings and a 28-year-old woman is charged with Assault Causing Bodily Harm (x2), Possession of a Weapon for the Purpose of Committing an Offence, Carry a Concealed Weapon and Breach of Probation.
