The provincial government and Saskatchewan Trade and Export Partnership are touting record-breaking exports last year. The annual State of Trade report states that there was $52.6 billion in exports in 2022, which is 42 per cent higher than the previous record of $37 billion set in 2021.

A news release from STEP and the government says a significant portion of the growth comes from potash sales, making it the top export of the year, overtaking the previous number one, which was crude oil. However, oil exports also increased by 50 per cent. Potash and oil now account for 56 per cent of the province’s exports.
Agri-food and manufactured goods also had record years.
