Six people are facing charges in connection to a firearms-related incident Sunday night in Bell’s Point. La Ronge RCMP were alerted about a shooting and were told two men and a woman approached a home on Bird Place and shot a gun, striking it. Police say the three then forced their way inside and a firearm was discharged again, injuring two people, and then the suspects fled on foot. Before officers arrived, the two injured men had been taken to the hospital in a private vehicle.
Officers report seizing over 100 grams of cocaine from the vehicle, some cash and trafficking paraphernalia. A search warrant was executed at the home on Bird Place and police say a semi-automatic firearm, an illegally modified firearm, hard body armour, a small amount of cocaine, and drug trafficking paraphernalia were seized.
From the items seized in the vehicle and at the home, three people are facing firearms and possession for the purpose of trafficking charges – 23-year-old Desirae McKenzie of Prince Albert, 35-year-old Wolfgang McKenzie from the La Ronge area and 22-year-old Kevin Keenatch from the Saskatoon area.
From the firearms incident, 21-year-old Dennis Chars, 22-year-old Celine Charles and 22-year-old Brandon Keighley of La Ronge are facing numerous charges including attempted murder, break and enter, and discharging a firearm with intent. Warrants have been issued for their arrests.
Dennis Charles is described as approximately 5’5″ and 160 lbs. He has black hair and brown eyes. He has numerous tattoos, including one on his cheek. Celine Charles is described as approximately 5’5″ and 110 lbs. She has black hair and brown eyes. She has small tattoos over her eyebrow and on her cheek. Brandon Keighley is described as approximately 5’9″ and 150 lbs. He has black hair and brown eyes.
