A man and woman have been charged in connection to a Melfort RCMP investigation into an armed robbery early Tuesday morning at a home in that city. Police were told both had firearms and threatened the occupants, stole some items including jewelry and car keys and then stole a 2001 Buick LeSabre, which was found later. Around 7:30 Wednesday night, officers spotted the two and attempted a traffic stop. After traveling a short distance, the vehicle stopped and they ran into a home. The two were taken into custody shortly afterwards.
Thirty-nine-year-old Jeffrey Thomas from Opaskwayak, Manitoba and 19-year-old Brandy Morissette from Paddockwood are facing numerous charges including robbery with a firearm, break and enter, forcible confinement and pointing a firearm.
