Melfort RCMP is searching for a woman who is believed to have been involved in conducting a grandparent scam.

On December 19, 2022, a large sum of money was taken from an elderly woman in what’s referred to as a grandparent scam. The caller pretends to be a relative of the senior, claims to be distressed, and begs for money.

Investigation determined the suspect was or is currently in the Melfort area. The suspect is a female, described as approximately 5’5” to 5’8” tall, with dark brown hair and brown eyes. Anyone who recognizes this woman is asked to contact Melfort RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
