Last week, there were 420 wildfires burning across Canada. This week, the Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Centre says there are 465 fires burning.
They say this is largely due to an increase in fires in Alberta and Ontario. The number of wildfires burning in Saskatchewan has remained at 33 from yesterday, with 5 contained, 5 not contained, 15 under ongoing assessment, and eight where the focus is to protect property.
Alberta has 88 wildfires burning, with 45 under control, 31 being held, and 12 out of control.
