For the last six years, STARS has been a partner with Ag in Motion and was holding their annual Field of Stars fundraiser at the event in Langham.
Chief Fundraising and Brand Officer Terry Strunk says this year, the STARS team is planning some changes. This year, the event is being moved into Prairieland Park so more people can take advantage of the event. On July 18th, there is a barbeque dinner, both live and silent auctions, and this year, the fundraiser will be joined by Doc Walker, a Canadian country music band.
The event starts at 5:30pm with dinner at 7:00pm and will wrap up by 11:00pm. STARS will also be at Ag in Motion all week, and Strunk advises visitors to keep their eyes on the skies for an appearance from one of STARS’ new H145 helicopters.
Although the government funds 50 per cent of what the organization requires, Strunk says STARS has to raise about $10 million a year through events like these in order to provide their services.
