The Leader of the provincial NDP says Saskatchewan tax dollars should stay in this province, supporting communities, businesses and workers, being invested back into the economy. Carla Beck has announced ‘Hire Saskatchewan’, which is a commitment that if elected, the NDP will prioritize hiring Saskatchewan workers and companies and use made-in-Saskatchewan materials for public infrastructure projects and public contracts. She notes that being a local company would factor in, but would not be the only factor in the decision-making process. The provincial election will be held in the fall of 2024.
