Softball Canada, obviously, loves having national events held in Saskatoon!
The 26th and 27th Canadian Fastpitch-Softball Championships to be hosted by the Saskatoon Amateur Softball Association are slated to be held over the next two weeks at the Gordie Howe Sports Complex. On Wednesday, it’s the beginning of the Under-23 Men’s nationals at Bob Van Impe Stadium and Joe Gallagher Field. The Delisle Pride are the host team, the Tavistock, Ontario, Merchants are the defending champions with three other Ontario entries – Owen Sound Selects, Harwood Corners and Alvinston Aces – plus the Nova Scotia Selects and Team Newfoundland. Next week, starting Wednesday, there’ll be 24 teams taking part in the Canadian Under-17 Girls Championship.
