The national unemployment rate rose a notch to 5.5 per cent in July as job creation lagged behind population growth. Statistics Canada reports the economy lost a modest 6,4hundred jobs. In Saskatchewan, the rate stands at 5.1 percent, up from 4.7 last month. In Regina the unemployment rate held steady at 4.4 percent and Saskatoon stayed the same as well, at 4.7 per cent. (CKRM)
