A fence and a locked gate had to be breached for the Saskatoon Fire Department to respond to a fire at a warehouse building in the 300 block of Avenue K South around 1:30 this morning (Tues). The first arriving fire crew reported flames showing from the rear of the large commercial building. After extinguishing the fire, firefighters checked to make sure no one was inside.
The Fire Investigator deemed the fire suspicious, and Saskatoon Police are now investigating. The fire is considered suspicious because there were three points of origin identified. The damage estimate is $15,000.
On the west side of the property, there were indications of an encampment, but the fire didn’t breach it, and no one was found at the encampment.
