ot long before scenario training was set to start in Regina’s North Central neighbourhood, the Regina Police Department issued an advisory that the public needs to avoid the area around St. Michael School in the 400 block of Hamilton Street. The Regina Police Service Explosives Disposal Unit is on scene investigating a suspicious item outside the school.

At 1:30 p.m. the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team is scheduled to begin training and residents can expect to see SWAT team members as well as associated vehicles in the Queen City’s North Central neighbourhood. Training activities are limited to specific locations and those living in the immediate vicinity were being notified.
