A male youth has been arrested and charged with second degree murder in connection to the death of a 30-year-old man from Pelican Narrows early Tuesday morning. Pelican Narrows R-C-M-P responded to a home in the community around 1 a.m. that morning to a report of a serious assault.

A man was found seriously injured at the scene and was later declared dead at the local clinic. The police investigation determined there had been an altercation between the man and a male youth, who was arrested in Pelican Narrows a few hours later.

The victim and the accused are known to one another with the male youth not able to be identified as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act. He was to have appeared in court in Pelican Narrows on Wednesday.
