A 20-year-old Saskatoon man faces multiple firearms-related charges following an early Thursday morning report of a person pointing a firearm at two people.
Patrol members of the Saskatoon Police Service responded to the 900 block of 22nd Street West at about 1:30 a.m. on August 24 when they spotted the suspect male quickly entering and exiting a yard in the 100 block of Avenue J South. The man resisted the initial request to stop by police. He was taken into custody following a brief struggle with officers. He was found to be in possession of several rounds of ammunition while a sawed-off .22 calibre rifle was recovered from the yard on Avenue J South. In addition to the multiple firearms-related charges, the 20-year-old man has been charged with assault with a weapon, resisting arrest and failing to comply with court-imposed conditions. Outstanding warrants for forcible confinement and assault were also executed upon his arrest.
