Unifor members at Ford, General Motors and Stellantis, including members in Canada, have delivered overwhelming strike mandates for job action if needed, to achieve fair collective agreements. Stellantis has 14 automotive brands including Dodge, Jeep and Chrysler.
Unifor Canada’s National President, Lana Payne, says members are united in the effort to improve pensions, increase wages and secure good, union jobs in the Electric Vehicle future. Unifor paused negotiations to hold the strike votes over the weekend. The current collective agreements expire at 11:59 p.m. on September 18th. Formal negotiations began August 10th in Toronto, representing 18,000 autoworkers covered by collective agreements.
