Six pallets of illegal, unstamped cigarettes were confiscated last Thursday evening on the TransCanada Highway, just east of Indian Head.
A member of the Saskatchewan Highway Patrol stopped a semi-trailer and found about 1.9 million cigarettes with a value of $1.1 million on the black market.
The driver of the truck has been charged with several counts under the Criminal Code and the Tobacco Tax Act. The power unit and semi-trailer were also seized.
