RCMP from the Wetaskiwin, Alberta Detachment are investigating a possible attempted child abduction.
Around 7:30 in the evening on July 26th, officers were told that two children, 7 and 15 years old, were walking on a side street in Pigeon Lake, which is about 100 kilometres southwest of Edmonton, and were approached by a woman. It’s alleged she got out of her vehicle and began to speak to them, and then it was reported to police that the woman grabbed the younger child, who was able to break free and they both ran away.
The RCMP are releasing a picture of a potential suspect vehicle and a composite sketch of the woman.
The woman is described as:
-fair complexion

-180-190 pounds
-approximately 5 foot 6 inches tall
-long to mid shoulder length grey hair

-small hairs around the mouth and chin
-wearing a long black coat.
The vehicle in the picture was seen in the area at the time of the alleged offence, and is believed to have been driven by the suspect. The vehicle depicted is described as a 2015-2018 Blue Ford Edge.
