An altercation early Wednesday morning at a residence on the Buffalo River Dene Nation has resulted in one man being dead and the other arrested on second degree murder charges.
Fifty-five-year-old George Bekkattla was declared deceased at a residence on the Buffalo River Dene Nation. Dillon RCMP responded to the residence at about 6:40 a.m. on September 13 with the initial investigation determining that two adult males had been involved in an altercation. Later that morning, Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes arrested an adult male in the town of Dillon in relation to the incident. Forty-one-year-old Nathan Billette of the Buffalo River Dene Nation will face one charge of second degree murder when he appears in La Loche Provincial Court on Monday.
