The Saskatoon Police Service says the Drug Unit has concluded Project Repeat which was a four-week investigation into what police describe as the repeat drug trafficking activities of 25-year-old Andrew Karamat of Saskatoon.
Two search warrants were executed after two vehicle stops on Monday. First, Andrew Karamat was arrested in the area of McKercher Drive and 105th Street East. Police say he was in possession of one kilogram of cocaine in brick form. Shortly after members of the RCMP conducted a vehicle stop near Kindersley at which time 32-year-old Ivan Nario of Calgary was arrested. Police believe he met with Karamat earlier that day and a drug transaction took place. At the time of the vehicle stop, RCMP officers seized a one-kilogram brick form of cocaine and more than $82,000 in cash.
The subsequent search warrants executed in the 900 block of Wilkins Court in Willowgrove and the 400 block of Bronson Crescent in Lakeridge then led to the arrest of 30-year-old Sinita Sparvier of Saskatoon. Police then seized 6.59 kilograms of cocaine in brick form; $272,450 CAD; 44 cartons of illegal cigarettes; 30-round Glock magazine; 2016 Dodge Durango; 2019 GMC Sierra; 2019 Honda Civic; luxury watches, bags, shoes, clothing.
As a result of Project Repeat, Andrew Karamat, Ivan Nario, and Sinita Sparvier are all facing charges relating to drug trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime. Karamat is also facing charges for breaching court-imposed conditions and possessing a prohibited device.
