Two people suffered critical injuries after being attacked in downtown Moose Jaw on Thursday evening.

The Moose Jaw Police Service says 911 received multiple calls around 6:10 p.m. about a stabbing incident at 23 High Street East, which is just off Main Street, involving a machete.

Emergency services located two victims: one had been struck near the head and the other suffered multiple stab wounds.

The Moose Jaw Police Service says they were able to locate two 20-year-old men believed responsible who they say surrendered upon “being confronted by numerous police officers.”

The two suspects were arrested and taken into custody without incident and the motivation for the attacks remains unclear. They will be in court today and one of the 20-year-old men also had several outstanding warrants, which included Robbery, Assault, and Failure to Appear.
