The provincial government’s latest respiratory illness report leading up to the 23rd states that COVID-19 activity has increased in the past month from an average of 95 positive tests in the previous three weeks to 159 in the most recent surveillance week. The report states that in the last two weeks of the reporting period, there were two deaths where COVID was reported.
From august 27th to September 23rd there were 141 cases of COVID-19 in the hospital, three cases of the flu and one with RSV. There were only five cases of RSV in the last two weeks while influenza increased in the last week but remains below the inter-seasonal 2 per cent test positivity threshold.
