The trio of N-H-L campers that made their regular-season debuts Saturday for the Saskatoon Blades ended up having an immediate impact as the Bridge City Bunch out-lasted the Tigers 3-2 in overtime in Medicine Hat.
From Austin Elliott stopping 29 of 31 shots to Tanner Molendyk forcing overtime and assisting on the game-winning tally to Egor Sidorov (pictured) sniping the deciding tally at 4:06 of the extra period, those three guys were welcome additions to the Blue and Gold line-up as the team improved to 2-1-0 for the season and handed the Tigers their first loss, now 3-0-1. Brandon Lisowsky also scored for the Blades and added an assist while captain Trevor Wong chipped in three helpers in the 200th game of his W-H-L career. Saskatoon never led until Sidorov’s O-T winner, out-shot 31-30 overall – Molendyk and Sidorov accounted for more than half of the Bridge City Bunch’s 30 shots on goal with nine and eight, respectively. The win was the 10th straight head-to-head success for the Blue and Gold over Medicine Hat, dating back to December, 2019. The Blades face a quick turn-around as they take on the Calgary Hitmen Sunday at 2 o’clock at the Saddledome. CJWW’s broadcast begins at 1:45 p.m. Following are the audio highlights from CJWW’s broadcast, Les Lazaruk’s Post-Game Show interview with H-C Brennan Sonne and the official game summary courtesy the W-H-L…..
