Carlyle RCMP say what started as a two-vehicle accident on Highway 13 near Kisbey, Saskatchewan turned into a three-vehicle accident that claimed one life.
Emergency services including RCMP, EMS, Fire and STARS responded around 6:40 a.m. on Thursday.
RCMP say an SUV and a truck collided. After the initial report, an additional call for service was received when a third vehicle, a car struck the collision scene.
A driver and passenger in the SUV from the Weyburn area were flown to hospital. The driver had serious injuries and the passenger’s injuries were non-life threatening which was also the case for the driver of the car who was the sole occupant and who was taken to hospital as well.
There were three people in the truck. The driver, a 31-year-old man from Redvers, was declared dead at the scene. The two passengers were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and the accident is still under investigation.
