Waskesiu-Montreal Lake RCMP say a sudden death June 7th on Montreal Lake Cree Nation is being investigated as a homicide. The victim was 33- year-old Chad Bird.

Police say as a result of investigation, on Saturday, 37-year-old Julian Ganton from Prince Albert was arrested in Saskatoon with the assistance of Saskatchewan RCMP’s Warrant Enforcement and Suppression Team and Saskatoon Police Service.

Ganton was in Saskatoon Provincial Court Monday charged with one count being an accessory after the fact to murder and one count, driving while prohibited. Also, on Monday in Prince Albert, 26-year-old Tristen Naytowhow from Prince Albert was arrested and charged with one count, second degree murder and one count, possession of a firearm while prohibited. He will appear in Prince Albert Provincial Court today.
