Two more people have been charged in connection to an RCMP investigation into a report of a gun shot outside of a home on Montreal Lake Cree Nation on October 12th. Officers found an injured man who was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Montreal Lake RCMP say there was an altercation between the victim and two other males. Two men – 27-year-old Deon Smith and 29-year-old Justice Bird were arrested separately within a day of the shooting. Then on Saturday, October 21st, RCMP arrested 22-year-old Ben Bird and 28-year-old Lloyd Bird. All four are charged with attempted murder, robbery with a firearm and aggravated assault among other charges and will all be appearing in Prince Albert Provincial Court on different dates through the end of this month.

This investigation included assistance from the RCMP’s Prince Albert General Investigation Section, Prince Albert Forensic Identification Services, La Ronge and Meadow Lake Crime Reduction Teams, Prince Albert Warrant Enforcement and Suppression Team and Police Dog Services.
