Police in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario are investigating the shooting deaths of five people, including three children aged six, seven and 12.
The police service news release describes the situation as a case of intimate partner violence.
The first call came in at 10:20 p.m. as a break-in to a home and when officers arrived, they found a 41-year-old person dead from a gunshot wound. Ten minutes later, 911 communicators received another report of someone at a home with a gun and when officers responded they found a 45-year-old person injured from a gunshot wound who was taken to hospital. The children were found dead at the same location.
Police say the shooter, a 44-year-old person was also located at the home, deceased, with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. No names are being released.
