Saskatchewan RCMP are looking for two people wanted in connection to an extortion investigation and have arrested three others. On September 19th, Prince Albert RCMP responded to a report of a gun being shot on Sturgeon Lake First Nation.
Investigators say several suspects assaulted and attempted to extort a man who was taken to hospital with non life threatening injuries. The charges for three people – 41 year old Ian Felix, 32 year old Jared Naytowhow and 24 year old Brianna Forest include extortion with a firearm, aggravated assault, forcible confinement and uttering threats against a person.
A warrant was issued for their arrest.
Last Wednesday, officers from the RCMP’s Warrant Enforcement and Suppresion Team was patrolling on Sturgeon Lake First Nation and noticed a vehicle reported stolen from Melfort. The driver, who police report was Ian Felix, was arrested and eight restricted firearms and ammunition were seized. He is now facing more charges, including six counts of careless use of a firearm and driving while prohibited.
After further investigation, two more people were arrested on outstanding warrants and one of them, 22 year old Savannah Burns, was charged in relation to the extortion. Meanwhile, Jared Naytowhow and Brianna Forest haven’t yet been located. Naytowhow is about 5’10”, 200 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. His picture is with this story.
