Prince Albert Police say after they tracked down a stolen SUV, which had been seen earlier in the day Monday but fled when police tried to pull it over, they located it again and two unmarked police vehicles boxed it in.
However, police say the driver tried to flee and drove into police vehicles causing damage which is when patrol officers arrived on scene to give assistance. A window was broken in the disturbance and pepper spray was deployed in making the arrest.
Thirty-one-year-old Germaine Michel has been charged with assaulting a police officer, assault with a weapon, resisting arrest, operating a motor vehicle in a manner dangerous to the public, criminal negligence, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, possession of stolen property over $5000, failing to stop for police and numerous breach of court ordered conditions including not to be in the driver’s seat of a motor vehicle.
When he appeared in court on Tuesday, Germain Michel also had several outstanding warrants for his arrest which included flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, criminal negligence, resisting arrest, assault police officer and breach of court ordered conditions.
