A case of great timing for the R-C-M-P and bad timing for a young man from Pelican Narrows.
While Pelican Narrows R-C-M-P and the La Ronge Crime Reduction Team conducted proactive patrols in Pelican Narrows back on Monday, officers conducted a traffic stop and observed a loaded magazine in plain sight in the vehicle. All three occupants of the vehicle were arrested and searched. Officers located and seized a sawed-off firearm, about 21 grams of methamphetamine, about three grams of cocaine, a sum of cash and trafficking paraphernalia (pictured). Two of the three vehicle occupants were released without charge, but 23-year-old Jaden Custer of Pelican Narrows will appear in Prince Albert Provincial Court next Thursday, November 2nd to face charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine, possession of property obtained by crime over five thousand dollars, possession of a firearm while knowing possession is unauthorized, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unlicensed possession of a restricted/prohibited firearm with ammunition, possession of a firearm in motor vehicle, two counts of weapons possession contrary to order and four counts of fail to comply with probation order. The investigation continues.
