More and more younger Canadians say they are concerned when it comes to their personal debt.
Equifax Canada conducted a survey this past September, finding that 52 per cent of respondents between the ages of 18 and 34 are anxious about their personal debt, compared with 39 per cent overall.
According to the numbers, younger Canadians are more likely to look into second or third jobs or “side hustles” in order to meet their financial obligations.
Housing affordability is a top concern, with 86 per cent of all respondents saying governments should do more to address the issue. Additionally, 36 per cent expressed concern about their mortgage renewing at a higher interest rate than they can afford.
