During Question Period on Thursday, the Official Opposition urged the Premier to denounce Alberta’s plan to withdraw from the Canadian Pension Plan. Leader Carla Beck says there are over 280,000 beneficiaries receiving over $2.05 billion in Saskatchewan who rely on the CPP. She believes all beneficiaries and workers will pay a price for the threat posed to the plan by the Alberta government.
Beck says provincial and territorial leaders have called an emergency meeting on Alberta’s threat to withdraw, but when given the chance to denounce Premier Danielle Smith’s threat to pensioners, Premier Moe refused to stand up in the Legislature on Thursday to do so.
