In order to graduate students in Saskatchewan will now have to have a financial literacy credit. Students need 24 credits in total to get their Grade 12. They will ow only require three English Language credits versus what used to be five, two Social Science credits instead of three which will mean they have to increase the number of electives they take in order to graduate.
The Ministry of Education says this gives students more choice and flexibility when deciding the path that will take them to a successful Grade 12 graduation.
The changes will be implemented in the 2024-25 school year.
