Saskatoon’s Meewasin Park is going to be rubbing shoulders with other high-profile urban parks after the Meewasin Valley Authority (MVA) announced Thursday that they have joined the Cornerstone Parks Program (CPP).
While the MVA is known world-wide for its leadership in conserving the natural resources of its 6,700 hectares of the Meewasin Valley, joining up with the Cornerstone Parks Program puts it alongside other CPP members like Stanley Park in Vancouver, High Park in Toronto and the Darlington Ecological Corridor in Montreal. The Cornerstone Parks Program is Canada’s only national network dedicated to maximizing the impact and influence of Canada’s large urban parks.
