Didsbury, Alberta RCMP say they received a report Tuesday of alleged physical abuse of a senior at a local residential care facility in the community.

Police say their investigation determined an 87-year-old individual had been assaulted, physically, by a care worker for almost a year from September 2021 to August 2022.

Information obtained by investigators this past Wednesday led to the arrest of Maximino Garcia. The 49-year-old resident of Didsbury had been an employee at the care facility since 2014. He has been charged with assault and placed on several conditions to ensure the safety of the victim. Now Didsbury RCMP are looking for additional possible victims.
