Medavie Health Services West is asking the public if they saw anything Saturday morning when one of the windows of their ambulance was smashed in.
Between 5:50 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. paramedics were on scene for what is described as a “serious patient) which is when the window was smashed. The ambulance was parked on 20th street between 2nd and 3rd Ave. Medavie says, “Paramedics had to transport the patient with the smashed-out window to RUH as the patient was in serious condition and couldn’t be delayed for a new ambulance.”
Troy Davies, Director of Public Affairs, says they are asking anyone who has information on this incident to contact Saskatoon Police Service. He points out that because we’ve been experiencing fairly favourable weather it didn’t affect paramedics ability to treat the patient, but it is an additional stressor that paramedics don’t need to deal with.
