Saskatchewan’s Lieutenant Governor handed out Engineering awards earlier this week. The Meritorious Achievement Award in Engineering recognizes a Saskatchewan resident for their outstanding achievements and contributions to the consulting engineering and geoscience industry.
This year’s honouree is Dwayne Gelowitz. He has been a Lead Engineer on multi-billion-dollar irrigation projects and was appointed Technical Advisor on a billion-dollar irrigation investment in Alberta.
Dwayne served as President of the Regina Engineering Society and as a Director on the Board of the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies – Saskatchewan followed by long service as a committee chair and a national director. Dwayne was also elected to the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan Council and served as a Director of Engineers Canada.
The following 2023 award winners were also honoured at the ceremony:

– Future Leaders Award, Carolyn Wright, P.Eng.
Brian Eckel Awards recognizing outstanding Saskatchewan projects went to:

– Excellence Award: AECOM Canada Ltd., City of Prince Albert – Raw Water Pumphouse
– Merit Award: AECOM Canada Ltd., Buffalo Pound Lake Pump Station Upgrade
– Merit Award: Associated Engineering, Kahkewistahaw Landing
– Merit Award: BCL Engineering Ltd., Village of Lebret/Star Blanket First Nation Joint Wastewater Treatment Facility
– Merit Award: Stantec Consulting Ltd., The Towns Neighbourhood – Phase 1
– Merit Award: CIMA Canada Inc, Provincial Regional Water Study: Potable System Opportunities
– Merit Award: Associated Engineering, Highway 3 Twinning
